ORU-BOAS

Ongoing
A collaborative study targeting to lay the foundations of a concept, allowing the assembly, repair, or upload of in-orbit space infrastructures.

ORU-BOAS (Orbital Replacement Units – for – Building Blocks for Advanced Assembly of Space Systems) is an EC Horizon collaborative study aiming to lay the groundwork of a concept, allowing the assembly, repair, or upload of space infrastructures while already in orbit. The main goal is to develop such a concept module for TRL5/6, as a way to build the capacity of Europe to deliver autonomous robotic space missions.

This consortium is composed of six companies from six European Union countries, which includes ISISPACE Group (Netherlands), SENER Aeroespacial SA (from Spain); Thales Alenia Italia (Italy); Thales Alenia France (from France); EASN TIS (Belgium); DLR (German Aerospace Center, from Germany). As part of this group, our main target is to provide a new EPS system and develop a tracked solar array module. Check more details here.
