ISIS’ environmental test facilities are optimized for the flight acceptance and qualification of satellites smaller than 30 kilograms. These facilities are available as a service to third parties as well, for instance as an add-on to a small satellite launch contract.
For several years, we operate a mechanical shock test bench to simulate the mechanical shocks induced on small satellites by fairing or stage separations of the launch vehicle. Mechanical shock tests are particularly important for mechanisms and other moving elements in a satellite, but can be part of a product qualification process as well. ISIS’ shock test bench is able to simulate the shock spectra of most launch vehicle currently in use for the launch of small satellites.
