| | | Launch Service Details
ISIS can arrange the launch of your spacecraft for you. What does this mean? In general, it comes down to a complete arrangement of the launch, such that you do not have to worry about it, apart from making the deadlines of course. The details may depend on your launch and orbit requirements and the size of your spacecraft.
| | | ISIS can arrange a launch for any satellite or attached payload up to 100 kg. The arrangement of a launch for larger satellites is also possible through our strategic partnerships. Typically, satellite classes for our launch services are:
Very small spacecraft with very low orbit requirements, complying with the CubeSat standard, and launched inside a canister or dispenser, such as the ISIPOD. Typical mass does not exceed ~4kg.
Small spacecraft with very low orbit requirements that can be launched as piggyback payload using a standard or custom launch adaptor. Typical mass does not exceed ~25kg.
Small spacecraft with relatively low orbit requirements that can be launched as auxiliary payload using a standard or custom launch adaptor. Typical mass does not exceed ~100kg.
Space experiments or technology demonstration hardware that will remain attached to the upper stage. Typical lifetime in Low Earth Orbit is several weeks to a few months For each of the abovementioned classes, ISIS can provide complete launch service solutions, including all technical and non-technical management and launch adaptor and testing if necessary and so desired. The main differences between for the several classes of satellites will be the time required between contract arrangement and launch. | | | The process for the arrangement of an ISILaunch typically is as follows: | At first, we will discuss your mission needs and launch and orbit requirements in terms of orbit parameter ranges and schedule.
| | Also, we will discuss the desired extent of the launch services for your spacecraft, concerning the desired launch adaptor type, whether acceptance testing should be included in the services, etc.
| | ISIS will look for a suitable launch opportunity that fits your needs. For negotiations with the launch service provider, ISIS prefers to draft a Letter of Intent with you.
| | Once a suitable launch opportunity is found – typically several weeks to two months after discussing your needs – ISIS will send you an offer for the launch service package as discussed earlier.
| | Upon acceptance of the offer, we will start drafting the launch contracts. Once this process is finished, the launch is booked and the launch management process can start.
| | During the launch management process up to the delivery of the spacecraft to the launch site, ISIS will represent you toward the launch service provider, taking care of all technical and non-technical aspects of the launch, like:
- planning and scheduling management
- interface control
- technical documentation and meetings
- environmental testing (if applicable)
| | ISIS will provide logistics support for the delivery of the spacecraft to the launch site, as well as the travel and lodging of the launch team and the transport of any ground support equipment.
| | ISIS provides support and specific assistance if so agreed upon for the launch preparations at the launch site.
| | Finally, we will supervise launch vehicle integration of your spacecraft and – if possible – be present at the final stages up to and including launch.
| | Directly after launch, we will update you on status and orbital elements frequently, followed by a post-launch report after about two weeks.
|
| | | Of course, every spacecraft is unique, and customer needs will vary from case to case, which makes each launch service contract a custom solution as well. Yet by standardizing certain parts of the process, and by combining multiple payloads into a single launch contract, ISIS manages to offer flexible launch service at a competitive price. We invite you to indicate your needs and to discuss the possibilities of launching you spacecraft through an ISILaunch. To this end, please fill in the Launch Request Form or contact us directly at
